Our Mission

The main cause of loneliness among seniors is living alone and often being alone. We are committed to defeating senior seclusion by providing group activities that keep seniors interacting with others.  Our main focus is on seniors health and wellness.

Since 2012, our 501c(3) organization, South Florida Seniors in Action has been dedicated to improving the lives of seniors—including individuals with disabilities, and other underprivileged seniors living in Miami-Dade County.

Who We Are

At South Florida Seniors in Action, we come to work every day because we believe that seniors have much to teach us and yet there is still a lot that seniors can learn, especially living in the age of technology. Our organization creates fun, informative, interactive events, and classes that foster community involvement and interaction among seniors and between seniors and other generations.

Our facility offers free educational seminars, immigration clinics for U.S. citizenship, and computer courses to help seniors live more functional and independent lives. Our classes and facilities are open and free to all Miami Beach senior residents.

Give Miami Day 2021

If ever there was a time to stand up for Greater Miami, it’s now! Deep pain has defined this year for many local residents, grappling with a global pandemic and the fight for equal rights and opportunities. But teams at local nonprofit organizations have heroically stepped up, igniting Miami-Dade’s community strength, spirit of caring and resilience. On 11.18.21, it’s OUR turn to pour back into them. Help create another record-breaking movement on Give Miami Day.
